Vlajko-Vanja Pejović was born in Podgorica in 1979. He graduated the Faculty for Tourism and Hotel Management of Kotor. During his study, he started to go to the mountains and practice rock climbing. With a group of friends he founded Outdoor Club Podgorica and Mali Alpinistički Klub (Small Alpine Club). He organizeed and participated in several pioneering projects concerning the development of sport climbing areas (Smokovac, Kolašin, Tivat, Orjen, Bar). He also runs the web page montenegroclimbing.net. Furthermore, he has been active in marking hiking trails and organizing alpine climbing camps in the Montenegrin mountains, and he has also participated in a few rock, snow and ice climbing trips in the Dolomites, Chamonix, Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Croatia. He climbed around 150 routes in the mountains and canyons of Montenegro, many of the were first ascent routes. He is a member of the Montenegrin Mountain Rescue Service since 2009. He is living and working in Podgorica with his wife Ana.

 

Stefan’s passion are the mountains, especially the discovery of new terrain. He has done a new ascent in Iran on a 1.200m high wall, climbed Cerro Standhardt in Patagonia, crossed Island on skies or climbed on a 7.000 m high peak in Kasachstan to name a few places. Up to now he finished around 70 first ascents of multipitch routes all over the world. Stefan loves to be off the beaten track and enjoys the purity of being in the mountains – a simple bivouc, a sunrise, fresh water out of the spring or delicious cheese form the shepherd. Stefan fell in love with the wonderful and lonely mountains of Montenegro and Albania. For years, he returns several times per year to the beautiful countries to explore new climbing routes, meet friends and enjoy the Balkan-way-of-life. His Montenegrin friends are already considering to hand him over the Montenegrin citizenship Stefan works as a UIAGM certified mountain guide. He lives with his wife Katharina in the alps in Villach (Southern Austria).
